PAPR Usability Study for Wildland Firefighters

Leading the evaluation of portable Powered Air-Purifying Respirators (PAPRs) for wildland firefighters to optimize efficiency, comfort, and safety. Designed and conducted multiple rounds of field usability testing simulating high-exertion tasks. Applied mixed-methods research to collect and analyze physiological data (Zephyr BioHarness), pre-and post-task surveys, and observational feedback. Generated actionable insights to inform respiratory PPE guidelines for wildland-urban interface (WUI) firefighting.
